According to NITES, Wipro staff must complete retraining or risk being fired.

Wipro has warned that new recruits who fail to pass its Project Readiness Programme (PRP) with an overall score of at least 60% would be promptly fired in training instructions distributed to applicants

According to Pune-based trade organisation Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), candidates who joined Wipro, an IT services provider, after completing their velocity training programme must go through further training in order to remain employed.

According to NITES President Harpreet Singh Saluja, "Wipro's HR (Human Resources) department assured the employees in March 2022 before the unpaid velocity training began that if they successfully completed the training, they would not have to undergo training again in the company."

Over 100 employees will be impacted by the move, Saluja told Moneycontrol. "However, after joining the company on March 30, 2023, Wipro suddenly changed its stance and said that the employees must go through training again."

On March 30, Wipro sent training instructions to prospective workers. Wipro stated that if the employees do not pass the Project Readiness Programme (PRP) training with an overall score of at least 60%, their employment will be terminated immediately.

All Next Gen Associates (NGAs), who are hired both on and off campus, are given access to PRP in order to provide them the "necessary knowledge and skills that will enable them to start working on customer projects."
