Adipurush: All India Cine Workers Association asks PM Modi to impose a film ban and demands that Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir be charged with crimes

In a letter to PM Narendra Modi, a group of cinema employees requested that Adipurush be banned and that Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir be charged with violating religious freedom.

In response to the growing controversy surrounding Adipurush, the All India Cine Workers Association, an independent registered organisation of cinema technicians and workers, has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organisation has called for a ban on the movie after claiming that it disrespected the Hindu mythological epic Ramayana. Also, they requested that a FIR be filed against dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir and director Om Raut for offending religious sensitivities.

news source In a letter to PM Modi, the All India Cine Workers Association asked him to "stop displaying the movie and immediately order a ban of #Adipurush screening in the theatres and OTT platforms in the future." This was reported by ANI on Tuesday afternoon.

Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, the association's president, demanded a ban on the screening of the film Adipurush in a letter that was shared on the company's official letterhead. The dialogue and script of this film blatantly malign the reputations of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Adipurush Movie offends Hindus' and Sanatan Dharma's religious sensibilities.

The letter emphasised the importance of Lord Rama to Hinduism and continued, "Prabhu Shri Ram is a God for everyone in India, regardless of one's religious background. This movie depicts Lord Ram and even Ravan, who appears to be a character from a video game, with dialogues hurtful to every Indian in the nation and around the world."

"We want Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji order to stop displaying this movie and immediately order a ban of Adipurush screening in the Theatres and OTT platforms in the future," the letter said in its plea for a ban on the movie. Additionally, they demanded that the movie's director, producers, and dialogue writer be held accountable.

We need to file a police report against the movie's producer, writer, and director (Om Raut), who have offended Hindu sensibilities, in order to preserve the reputation of our Bhagwan Shri Ram, Maa Sita, and Ramsevak Bhaghwan Hanuman.

The Ramayana-inspired film Adipurush, which came out on Friday, has drawn criticism for its dialogue. Many people have criticised the contemporary language employed by some characters, most notably Hanuman, stating that it diminishes their stature. The movie has also come under fire for straying from the epic, which many Hindus regard as holy, and for using creative licence with its plot. Prabhas portrays Lord Rama in Adipurush, while Kriti Sanon plays Sita and Saif Ali Khan plays Ravana.
