According to the health ministry dashboard, India's daily Covid tally increased once more on Monday as 17,073 new instances were reported in the previous 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 4,34,07,046. In the past 24 hours, 15,208 patients have recovered from the illness while 21, more patients have died. As a result, the total number of fatalities and recoveries is now 5,25,020 and 4,27,87,606. The number of active cases in the nation has risen to 94,420, or 0.21 percent of all cases. From Sunday, when 11,739 people tested positive for Covid, Monday's instances have increased by 45 percent. On this day, however, there were 25 reported fatalities and 10,917 recoveries.

On June 24, the nation's daily total passed 17,000 for the first time with 17,336, the greatest one-day increase since February 20.

  • Maharashtra: With 6,493 new illnesses reported, Maharashtra showed a significant increase in the total. The number of cases in the state is the highest nationwide. (About 79 lakh)
  • Delhi: 1,891 cases were recorded in Delhi on Sunday, up from 666 the day before, which represents yet another increase in cases.
  • Kerala: Anther state where the increase of instances has been concerning is Kerala.

According to the Union health ministry, India's overall Covid recovery rate is 98.57 percent.

According to the government, the daily and weekly positive rates are 5.62 percent and 3.39 percent, respectively.

In the past 24 hours, 3,03,604 samples were tested for Covid, bringing the total to more than 86.10 crores, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

With 2,49,646 doses given to qualified beneficiaries in the last 24 hours, India's overall vaccination coverage has surpassed 197.11 crores. Over 4.41 crore recipients have received the precautionary dose out of the total doses given.

The health ministry also reported on Monday that 193.53 crore doses of vaccine have been distributed to states and UTs under the free-of-cost channel and direct state procurement categories of the Centre. The States and UTs still have about 12 crore doses of balance and unused dosages that need to be administered.
