According to data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), 20,181 new cases were reported in Mumbai on Thursday, with 17,154 (85%) of these being asymptomatic and 1,170 requiring hospitalisation. The disparity between BMC's daily case figures

In the last month, the number of active cases in Mumbai has increased by 4,524 percent. It has 1,714 active cases on December 6, 2021, which increased to 79,260 on January 6.

According to BMC officials, 107 out of 1,115 persons in Dharavi tested positive for the virus.

There are now 444 active cases in the cluster, with a total of 7,626 cases reported thus far. According to Kiran Dighavkar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner, G-north ward (Dharavi, Dadar), single day cases reached 99 on April 8 last year during the second wave, and 94 cases on May 3, 2020, during the first wave.
