On August 1–4, numerous areas of the country are expected to see extremely heavy rains, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). IMD predicts extremely heavy rainfall for a number of states, including Sikkim, West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan Uttarakhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttarakhand.

According to IMD, West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand have been placed under an orange alert for severe to very heavy rainfall today.

Moreover, an orange alert has been issued for the days of August 2-3 in Madhya Pradesh and August 1-2 in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh. Moreover, Goa, the Konkan, and Madhya Maharashtra are also anticipated to see heavy to extremely heavy rains on August 3.

Additionally, it stated that the next two days are likely to see more heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over eastern and eastern central India. The weather office further mentioned that an increase in rainfall activity is anticipated to occur across northeast India starting on August 3 while it will likely occur over northwest India from August 2–3.

Following excessive precipitation in July, the country is anticipated to get regular rainfall throughout the second half of the monsoon season, while El Nino and other unfavourable circumstances may prevent rain in August. According to the IMD, rainfall in August is forecast to be below average (less than 94 percent of LPA), but conditions are anticipated to improve noticeably in September. Normal rainfall is defined as falling between 94% and 106% of the long-period average (LPA), or 50-year average.

Northwest India: Isolated severe rainstorms are anticipated to hit Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh between August 1 and August 4, Himachal Pradesh and East Rajasthan on August 3 and 4, and Punjab on August 3.

On the 2nd and 3rd of August, as well as on the first day of August, isolated very heavy rainfall is also probable over East Uttar Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Across East Madhya Pradesh from August 1–3, North Chhattisgarh on August 1–2, Northwest Madhya Pradesh on August 2–3, and Vidarbha on August 2–3, light to moderate scattered to moderately widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall is highly likely.

On August 2nd, isolated very heavy rainfall is also possible over East Madhya Pradesh.

East India: Over Bihar from the first to the fourth of August, Odisha from the last week of July to the first of August, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand from the last week of July to the first of August, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on the third and fourth of August, and light to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, and heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely.

Northeast India: According to the IMD, the region will likely see light to moderate, widely dispersed to widespread rainfall during the next five days, with isolated very heavy rainfall on August 3–4.

West India: For the next four days, there will most likely be light to moderate widespread to widespread rainfall throughout the Konkan, Goa, and ghat parts of Madhya Maharashtra, with heavy rains possible on August 3

India's south -IMD forecasts widespread light to moderate precipitation, with isolated heavy precipitation across coastal Karnataka on the 2nd–4th of August and decreased precipitation activity over the other regions.
