G20 Summit: See the complete list of prohibited zones in Delhi from September 8 to 10

On Monday, the Delhi government published a gazette notice outlining the traffic restrictions put in place in anticipation of the impending G20 conference.

The notification states that from midnight on the intervening nights of September 7 and 8 to September 10, all types of goods vehicles, commercial vehicles, interstate buses, and local city buses, including Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses and Delhi Integrated Multi Modal Transit System (DIMTS) buses, shall not operate on Mathura Road (beyond the Ashram chowk), Bhairon Road, Purana Quila Road, and inside the Pragati Maidan tunnel.

The notification added, "Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Medium Goods Vehicles (MGVs), and Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) will not be allowed to enter Delhi from 21:00 on September 7, 2023, until 23:59 on September 10, 2023.

Nevertheless, it noted, cargo vehicles carrying necessities like milk, vegetables, fruits, medical supplies, etc. and possessing legitimate "no-entry approvals" will be permitted to enter Delhi.

From the morning of September 8 till the morning of September 10, the entire New Delhi district will be regarded as "Controlled Zone-I." The C-Hexagon, India Gate, and other roads will only be open to legitimate residents, authorized cars, and vehicles involved in housekeeping, catering, garbage management, etc. for hotels, hospitals, and other significant facilities in the district.

The announcement stated that "no TSR and cab will be allowed to enter or ply in New Delhi district from 05:00 hours on September 9, 2023, to 23:59 hours on September 10, 2023."

All commercial vehicles, including the buses presently in operation in Delhi, shall be permitted to travel on the Ring Road and the road network that extends beyond the Ring Road in the direction of Delhi's borders, it was noted.

The statement added, "Taxis transporting bona fide residents and tourists having valid reservations in hotels located within the New Delhi district and wanting to go to the New Delhi railway station would be allowed to ply on the road network inside the New Delhi district.

In Delhi, only vehicles used for emergency services like road maintenance, electric supply maintenance, water or sewage line maintenance, communication network maintenance, etc. will be permitted to move. These vehicles include those of the armed forces, paramilitary forces, police, disaster management, fire tenders, ambulances, etc.
