The day commemorates India’s military triumph over Pakistan.

On the Vijay Diwas day, July 26, 2021, Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid respect to the Kargil martyrs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the Kargil conflict on Monday, saying their bravery “motivates us every single day.”

Mr. Modi said the country recalls the sacrifice and courage of its warriors on the 22nd anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas, which commemorates India’s triumph over Pakistan in the conflict.

“We will never forget their sacrifices.” We will never forget their bravery. Today, on Kargil Vijay Diwas, we pay tribute to all those who died defending our country in Kargil. Every day, their bravery inspires us,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu expressed his gratitude to the armed personnel and their families, saying that the country will be forever thankful. “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I join the country in commemorating the storey of courage and valour of our military men. I honour the heroes of the Kargil war and Operation Vijay, as well as the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice “Mr Naidu was quoted by the Vice President Secretariat in a tweet.

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, stated that the country will always remember their tremendous sacrifice.
