Rain is anticipated in Bengal on Monday, but cyclone Mocha is not yet a threat.

On Monday, Calcutta's highest temperature is expected to reach 38.4 degrees Celsius with an 85% humidity level.

Due to a surge in humidity and heat on May 8, the met office predicted on Sunday light to moderate rainfall in a number of districts throughout West Bengal.

Cyclone Mocha, whose path will become apparent in the following two days, poses no immediate concern, according to the weatherman.

A spokeswoman for the met office stated that the possibility of light to moderate rainfall and lightning exists in the city, North and South 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Bankura, Birbhum, Purba Medinipur, Howrah, Purba, and Paschim Bardhaman on Monday with a maximum temperature forecast to reach 38.4 degrees Celsius and an 85% humidity level.

However, he added, "there is very little chance of rainfall brought on by the cyclone in the next two days, and things will be clearer by Tuesday."

In the upcoming 24 hours, he said, light rain is also expected in the state's northern districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Coochbehar, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur, and Malda.

The cyclonic system, if it forms, may ultimately make landfall in the coastal area of Bangladesh-Myanmar by the end of next week, affecting south Bengal, the spokesperson said in response to continuous questioning. There is, however, no chance that north Bengal districts will be affected.
