Ganguly's jab at Rohit and Dravid's support for Ashwin after Lyon receives the "best batter" from India

After Lyon dismissed "India's best batter," Ganguly viciously criticised Rohit and Dravid, alluding to the group's selection of Ravichandran Ashwin.

The opening two days of the World Test Championship final between Australia and India at The Oval had seen Australia completely dominate. Before Travis Head exceeded the 150-run threshold, Steve Smith reached his century in the opening over on Day 2. The Indian assault subsequently finished off the Australian innings in the first hour following lunch, totaling 469 runs. In response, Australia's pacers quickly ended India's quick start after cheap exits from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Cheteshwar Pujara. By the end of the day, India had a score of 151-5 thanks to a gallant partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane, albeit Australia still held the lead.

India was in trouble at 71 for four when Mitchell Starc bowled Kohli for 14 runs off one of his monster deliveries. A 73-run partnership between Jadeja and Rahane, though, resurrected India. And just as it appeared that it would become a significant situation for the Australians, Nathan Lyon struck out "India's best hitter" with a stunning delivery.

After Lyon dismissed Jadeja, Ganguly attacked India captain Rohit and head coach Rahul Dravid on-air for Star Sports, bringing up the team's exclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin despite his position as the No. 1 bowler in the ICC Test rankings.

Who is to suggest that an off-spinner cannot play on a green pitch? Nathan Lyon and Ravindra Jadeja, a left-handed batter. In Test cricket, he has taken more than 400 wickets. He now dismissed the top batter for India. Turn and Bounce were both present, he added.
