Business Mint Recognized Subhashini Naikar as the Most Admired Education Professional of the Year 2022

Her journey is a unique combination of industrial leadership overseeing marketing operations which transformed to that of a champion academician empowering graduate students to excel at corporate functions and bold start-up ventures.
Subhashini adopted relevant key insights from her corporate career to higher education benefitting large batches of students that graduated under her tutelage. Soon after clearing the State Eligibility Test in 2011, she joined her current stint at Prahladrai Dalmia Lions College of Commerce & Economics, affiliated to Mumbai University, as an Assistant Professor in the Commerce Department.

Her previous experience as faculty and allied roles for subjects ranging from Commerce, Management Studies and Mass Media studies, at various colleges under Mumbai University, Hotel Management Institutes, School of Broadcasting & Communication (Ma.Ch. University), Goa University, etc. proved to be of great advantage while taking higher roles of academic leadership. 
Subhashini soon realized that the graduate students passing out wasn’t job-ready, which was disadvantageous. She focused on designing a comprehensive package for student development engaging both innovative curricular and co-curricular initiatives. The model was so effective and popular that it was readily adopted by various institutes in Mumbai, especially the suburbs, whose student demography was from a middle-income group.
Subhashini’s programs effectively engaged students to take up larger responsibility, think ‘out of the box, and view bigger though it took exceptional leadership skills to introduce change in the conservative education sector.
However, along with her team of daredevil faculties, enthusiastic students, college think-tanks, and ambitious management, she designed programs like the Student Enrichment and Employment Development Program (SEED), an initiative to improve the employability quotient of the student, Dalmia Lions Utsav (DLU) as a popular intercollegiate event in Mumbai, Entrepreneurial Premier League (EPL), a start-up early-initiator event with real-time investor interactions, “Drishtant”, the mega inter-collegiate job fair, etc. This didn’t stop here, recently under her supervision Dalmia Stock Exchange was launched, which nurtured budding Stock traders across commerce students of Mumbai University. She also spearheaded the Placement Cell and “Aastha” Cell, to proactively reach out for a social cause.

Recognizing her strategic contributions, the Institute’s Management Council appointed her as the Vice Principal of Self-Financed Courses, overseeing the academic operations of over 8 various undergraduate and post-graduate programs. As the Department Supervisor, she invested in building an inclusive, supportive, equitable work ecosystem that delivered an environment of excellence within the department, which in effect served as an inspiration to other departments.
She still continues to teach Mass Media to undergraduate students, and Management subjects to undergraduate and Postgraduate students with high feedback ratings. Subhashini has authored the 8 most popular textbooks on Mass Media and Management Studies for students of Mumbai University. In 2019 she was awarded the ‘Distinguished Teacher’ by MTC Global at a grand ceremony in Bengaluru.
