Dr. Vijay Kumar Kontham, a resident of Telangana completed all his basic education in and around Warangal and Hyderabad, He pursued his higher studies across multiple cities in India. He is now Working as a senior consultant radiation oncologist at Yashoda Hospital Malakpet, Hyderabad since May, 2022. As part of his outreach program to serve the need, he visits Nalgonda and Warangal once every week. He completed his MBBS at Kamineni Institute of Medical Sciences, Narketpally.

He has done DNB (Radiation Oncology) from Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata. A JCI accredited dedicated Oncology center equipped with Novalis Tx, Clinac Ix Linear accelerators with Brainlab IGRT assembly, and Elekta Microselectron HDR (Ir-192) brachytherapy unit. He did extensive research work on the scope and uses of the rapid arc (VMAT) technique in head and neck cancers.

Worked as a Senior Resident in the department of radiation oncology at Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai (HBNI). During his tenure at TMH, Mumbai, he worked in Bone, soft tissue, Lymphoma, and Paediatric oncology, Gastro-Intestinal oncology, and Gynaecological oncology clinics. Gained rich experience in the latest techniques in Radiotherapy like SRS, SBRT, IMRT, Rapidarc, etc.

He has a Fellowship in Pain and Palliative care management from the Indian Academy of Palliative Care. From 2018 to 2022 he worked as a Senior Consultant in Radiation Oncology at Apple Cancer Institute (Apple Saraswathi Multispeciality Hospital), Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India, a NABH accredited multi-specialty hospital equipped with Truebeam STx Linear accelerator. Where he has done extensive work on the Brain and Spine Stereotaxy program and Prostate SBRT. He has been a part of more than 150 cases of Stereotactic radiosurgery in his tenure.
