Hailing from the Himalayan foothills, Prateek Vats a.k.a. Drip started making music and performing at mega stages in the year 2017. Comes from an army family background where his father Col. Naresh Chandra and his elder brother Maj. Akash Vats are both seasoned soldiers and the latter continue to be in service as an exemplary infantry officer. His mother Mrs. Kavita Sharma has a long experience in the field of teaching and running schools as a principal. By profession, Prateek comes from a background in merchant navy. His family is complete with his two dogs Parker (German Shepherd ) and Shiree ( English Cocker Spaniel ).

Before 2017 Prateek, sailed around the globe with Mediterranean Shipping Co. (M.S.C.) gathering his initial naval training at Tolani Maritime Institute, Pune. Following his dream to become an artist, Prateek fused and pursued the journey of transformation from being a mariner to a music producer/DJ. He studied music at Arjun Vagale’s premiere music academy I Love Music Academy at Gurugram in the year 2016. From there on he joined his friends (Sam Pillai and Shijin San) business of travel, events and entertainment as their headlining artist and partnered up in various other ventures. Sam and Shijin are award winning entrepreneurs who co-founded S. S. Group which is the parent company of TravAmigo, Blue Turtle Entertainments, Roozbeh farms and resorts, Blue Turtle Takeover etc.

Prateek Vats ( Drip ) has always been inspired by his father who also had a first class talent for sports, arts, history and literature. Known well for his skills and talents in boxing, long distance running, poetry and drama, Col. Naresh always entertained the habits of sports and co-curricular activities with academics in his kids which played a huge role in Prateek’s life. Since Childhood he displayed a flair for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities whereas academics in most modest terms ‘ not so much ‘ . Still a strict and stern routine from his mother kept him in line with his academics as well. Prateek loves spending time reading, writing, exploring, running and playing with his pets.

Drip started performing and playing at music and food festivals, annual college festivals and events all around India in 2017 - 2018. Completing his first India tour in the year 2018, while continuing to study music Drip also started work on his Debut album and record label creation ' Drip - Trip '. By 2022, Drip created a record label, headlined and played music festivals with over 30,000 crowd, was nominated for Asia – Australia’s Top 25 DJ’s by EDMdroid and shared stages with big names of the Industry like Nucleya, Yo - Yo Honey Singh, Raftaar, Parmish Verma, Ikka, Indeep Bakshi, Tapsee Pannu, Astitva ( Band ), DJ Sumit Sethi, Jasmine Sandlas, Rashmeet Kaur and the list goes on and has an online presence which reaches over 250K audience and continues to grow monthly. Currently, Drip is on tour with his winter lineup of shows and shoots of his upcoming album.
