Ms Tanu Rajput, Founder Trustee of UDAI Working Together Works, a Charitable Trust which works for children and young adults with special needs in New Delhi. She`s empathetic with great communication skills and is an easy-to-approach person. She has done an M.A. in Psychology and B.Ed. in Special Education. D.Ed. (MR), (ASD) and (LD). Also certified with Indian Sign Language, Guidance & Counselling and has great command in dealing with various disabilities. 

Inspired by her sister`s success and the splendid journey she has been affected by Polio. Today, her sister is a PHD Scholar and a teacher inspiring many people. Her sister has encouraged Tanu to join Mental Health and special education field.  With such a diverse repertoire of skills and knowledge she has endeavoured to create a people centric structure leading to change in the mental health landscapes in society. Her first small set-up started with 2 children at “Holy Child Intervention Centre for Special needs children”, in the year 2009 on one on one basic therapy services. 

In 2014, with a zeal to provide quality results of work, extended the services from an intervention centre to a Special School, changed its name to “UDAI Working together works” and registered it as a Charitable Trust.

Ms Tanu has been passionately working for the children and young adults with special needs and their families, for more than a decade in a way that makes their lives considerably better and worth living. Her specialization is in special education and Language and communication Therapies. She also contributes as a Guest Faculty in teaching special education curriculum at Institutions such as Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust and Mano Vikas Charitable Society which works for persons with special needs. Has conducted many workshops for parents and other target groups as part of advocacy on Mental Health and related topics. 

Awards & Recognition received: 

  • “Women Achiever Award” on International Women`s Day at the Freedom Awards ’19 for her active involvement and participation in humanitarian services and social upliftment.
  • “Outstanding Social Entrepreneur for contribution in special child education and rehabilitation” under Leaderships Icon Awards 2021.

Some of her personal interests are meeting friends, shopping, listening to music and travelling with family. Her aim is to bring children and young adults with special needs at par with the rest of the world. She is determined and motivated towards structuring an all-inclusive society for those who have been subjected to social intolerance and community stigma.
