Today's petrol and diesel prices: On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, petrol prices were raised for the sixth consecutive day across the country, setting new highs. Diesel prices, on the other hand, stayed steady. Petrol prices in the national capital have increased by 35 paise per liter.

Following the recent price hike, petrol now costs Rs 110.04 per liter in Delhi, while diesel costs Rs 98.42. Petrol costs Rs 115.85 in Mumbai's financial hub, while diesel costs Rs 106.62, according to data on the Indian Oil Corporation's website.

Fuel costs in India varies from state to state due to local taxation (VAT) and freight charges. Apart from that, motor fuels are subject to an excise levy imposed by the federal government.

The OMCs adjust the price of gasoline and diesel on a daily basis, based on the average price of benchmark fuel in the worldwide market over the previous 15 days, as well as foreign exchange rates.

Oil prices jumped on Tuesday on the worldwide market after leading producer organization OPEC undershot its planned pace of supply increases last month, while China, the world's largest oil user, increased operating rates to meet a surge in diesel demand, according to news agency Reuters.

By 0117 GMT, Brent crude futures had risen 28 cents (0.3%) to $84.99 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures had risen 19 cents (0.2%) to $84.24 a barrel, according to the report.
