Aishwarya Thatikonda, a young city girl, was one of eight people slain at the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Allen, a Dallas suburb in the north.

The Additional District Judge Tatikonda Narsireddy, who is currently employed at the Ranga Reddy District Commercial Courts complex, is the father of the 27-year-old Aishwarya.

Aishwarya and her companions were reportedly at the mall when a man with a gun started shooting at the patrons.

Police shot and killed the gunman, Mauricio Garcia, a 33-year-old Dallas, Texas, native.

The shooting at the mall resulted in the deaths of eight people in total and the injuries of seven others, including Aishwarya's Indian companion. Three injured people were hospitalised and are in critical condition, according to the local police.
