Fans who believe Abhishek Bachchan, who played Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra in JP Dutta’s LOC: Kargil, did a better job than Sidharth Malhotra, who plays Vikram Batra in the forthcoming film Shershaah, have replied. On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the trailer for Shershaah was released.

“#ShershaahTrailer is awsm,” one Twitter user remarked. No insult to Siddharth Malhotra (awsm actor did a great job), but I think @juniorbachchan did a better job as Capt. Vikram Batra (pvc) in #LocKargil. (Was more animated in that scene, especially – je Dil mange more, Durga Mata ki jai).” Abhishek responded with an emoji of folded hands.

“Just saw #ShershaahTrailer featuring @SidMalhotra but want to inform everyone that No one can equal the effort/energy putten by @juniorbachchan in 2003 LOC: Kargil movie,” another admirer tweeted. Vikram Batra is the one and only reel life Vikram. When I watch and hear his speech, I always get goosebumps.” Abhishek responded with the same emoji to him as well.

In LOC: Kargil, Abhishek portrayed Captain Vikram Batra, who received the Param Vir Chakra honor. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, and others. He paid homage to the soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas, writing on Twitter, “A day to commemorate the valiant efforts and sacrifices of the true heroes of the Kargil War.” Thank you for sheltering, protecting, and safeguarding us. I have the utmost admiration for all Kargil soldiers. #JaiHind #KargilVijayDiwas.”

Shershaah is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and stars Sidharth and Kiara Advani. He remarked at the film’s trailer presentation that “Shershaah has been an experience greater than a film.” “I’d want to express my gratitude to the Indian Army… This is a story of actual, real-life warriors like you. And I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to portray him,” he continued.

On August 12, three days before Independence Day, Shershaah will be available on Amazon Prime Video.
