After a long wait, SS Rajamouli's much-anticipated film RRR has finally been given a release date: January 7, 2022. However, due to the increasing number of Omicron cases in India, rumors are circulating that the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starred film's release date may be postponed. According to a report in Telugu Bulletin, the distributors of RRR's Hindi version have supposedly urged the makers to reschedule the release date because theatres in Maharasthra are only half full.

However, when PinkVilla contacted the film's producer, DVV Danayya, for comment, he stated that the film's release date will not be pushed back anymore. “No. "There will be no postponement," he said, according to the publication.

On the other hand, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma rushed to Twitter to say that the government should not let anyone into the theatre to see RRR if they cannot show proof of vaccination. "I have an EXCELLENT suggestion for the GOVERNMENT concerning OMICRON... No one should be allowed into #RRR theatres unless they have proof of DOUBLE DOSE. "The DESIRE to SEE #RRR will CONQUER the PEOPLE'S CARELESSNESS," he wrote in a Tweet.

According to insiders, RRR will be released on a variety of screens around the world. In this film, Jr NTR and Ram Charan play Telugu historical characters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Olivia Morris, a British actor and model, and Alia Bhatt will also attend. The film is said to have cost Rs 400 crores to make.

According to reports, RRR will be available on OTT platforms within 60 days after its debut. Netflix, the world's top streaming provider, has purchased the film's OTT rights. However, no formal information is currently available.
