India Sees Slight Dip With 11,692 New Covid Cases In Last 24 Hours, Active Tally At 66,170

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India records 11,692 new instances of Covid infection per day, while the number of active patients rises to 66,170. According to information provided by the health ministry, India broke the 12,000 barrier on Thursday and recorded 12,591 new infections of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases to 65,289 in total. The nation passed the 10,000 threshold on Wednesday, reporting 10,542 coronavirus infections, 38 fatalities, and 11 of those were confirmed by Kerala. The number of ongoing cases increased to 63,562, while the overall death toll increased to 5,31,190.

 
4,42,50,649 persons have recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.18 percent. According to information provided by the city's health department, the national capital on Wednesday had 1,757 instances of Covid-19, six fatalities, and a positive rate of 28.63 percent. With the most recent deaths, Delhi has now had 26,578 fatalities. 377 of the 7,967 available beds are taken. In contrast to Monday's 1,017 instances, the city had 1,537 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. 

According to officials, the Delhi prisons department has told imprisoned prisoners not to congregate in one location and to routinely wash their hands in light of the escalating number of instances of COVID in the nation's capital. According to the official, the 50-bed central hospital was able to accommodate the five active Covid cases in Tihar prison after they tested positive around 10 days ago. They are in good health and will shortly be released. Another official stated that inmates may also be sent to the DDU or LNJP hospitals.

The West Bengal Health Department issued a Covid-19 advice advising those with comorbidities, the elderly, minors, and pregnant women to stay away from any public gatherings. Although the prevalent strains in the state are known to only produce moderate symptoms, problems can occasionally occur, especially in the extremely elderly and people with "compromised immunity," according to the advice released on Tuesday.
