Raghunandan Rao, a BJP MLA, released a video clip and photos of the teen and her assailants last week, alleging the presence of the MLA's son in a car with her. He claimed that the police were involved in a cover-up.

In the Hyderabad gang rape case that has sparked indignation and political conflicts in Telangana, the underage son of an AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) MLA has been listed as an offender. All six defendants, one adult and five juveniles, have been arrested and are being held in jail.

The first five have been charged with gang rape, abduction, voluntarily inflicting harm, and parts of the POCSO Act, which means they could face the death penalty, a 20-year prison sentence, or a lifetime in prison.

The sixth has been charged with insulting a woman's modesty, causing bodily harm voluntarily, and sexual assault.

"We have charged them under the most serious parts of the law so that they receive the harshest penalty possible for this horrific conduct," said Hyderabad police commissioner CV Anand.

Raghunandan Rao, a BJP MLA, released a video clip and photos of the teen and her assailants last week, alleging the presence of the MLA's son in a car with her. He claimed that the police were involved in a cover-up.

The legislator's son, according to the authorities, was not participating in the gang rape because he had left the group at a neighborhood pastry shop.

"He had driven a short distance in the Innova and then returned because he received a phone call, so it was five people who committed the rape," the commissioner admitted, admitting that they only learned of his involvement in the initial sexual assault on the girl after the BJP leader's video and photos were released.

At around 1 p.m., the adolescent arrived at the club. According to the authorities, 100 students had reserved the pub at a cost of $1,300 per person.

"Around 3 p.m., the girl was harassed inside the pub itself. They then cornered her outside the pub at 5:40 p.m. after her buddy had left "Mr. Anand explained.

Mr Anand explained that one of the lads had promised her a ride, and the "daughter was ensnared by the CCLs (children in conflict with the law)." The attack took place in Hyderabad's affluent Jubilee Hills neighborhood.

The girl was seen standing outside the pub with the suspected attackers in security footage that went viral. The MLA's son, who was also shown on the video, might receive a five-year prison sentence.

The defendants are Class 11 and 12 pupils who come from "politically powerful" families.

One of the kids apprehended by the police is the son of a local politician of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, the state's ruling party. Another youngster is the son of a Sanga Reddy-based TRS leader.

The Innova car in which she was reportedly assaulted was found at the farmhouse yesterday. The unregistered vehicle was recently assigned to a politician, who happens to be the father of one of the children accused of gang rape. Although it looked to have been cleaned after the assault, forensic teams said they were still able to obtain sufficient evidence.
