Following the BJP's triumph in four states in the recently ended Assembly elections, Prime Minister Modi entered the Lok Sabha on Monday morning to chants of 'Modi, Modi.'

Members of Parliament from the BJP yelled 'Modi, Modi' for many seconds as Prime Minister Narendra Modi entered the Lok Sabha on Monday morning. This comes on the heels of the BJP's triumph in the recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa.

After PM Modi took his seat, the MPs continued to chant 'Modi, Modi,' while Speaker Om Birla grinned.


THE PARLIAMENT RESUMES.

On Monday, the second portion of Parliament's Budget session began. The budget for Jammu and Kashmir was to be presented in the Lok Sabha by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The government has also scheduled the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill for debate and passage in the Lok Sabha.

Meanwhile, the Opposition intended to bring up the Russia-Ukraine conflict in the House.

ELECTION OUTCOMES

After tallying the votes, the results of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab were announced on Thursday.

While the BJP won a majority in Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, and Uttarakhand, it also said that it will form a government in Goa, where it won 20 of 40 seats and appears to have the support of three other winning candidates.
