On Tuesday night, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took to Twitter to criticize Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for referring to an answer as "UP type" during a press conference following the presentation of the Union Budget 2022 on February 1. This comes just days before the state goes to the polls for the Assembly election.

"You did not include any funding for Uttar Pradesh in your budget. But what was the point of insulting the people of UP in this way? Understandably, UP residents are proud to be "UP types." We are proud of our state's language, dialect, culture, and history "Priyanka Gandhi took to Twitter.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress also tweeted, "We the people of UP are proud to be 'UP type,'" with the hashtag #UPMeraAbhimaan.

NIRMALA SITHARAMAN SAID WHAT?

Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the Union Budget 2022 to Parliament on Tuesday. Following the budget presentation, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed it on Twitter, calling it a "zero sum budget."

The finance minister was asked about Rahul Gandhi's remark during a press conference following the budget presentation. She requested a response from Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, who stated, "You said Rahul Gandhi did not understand the budget, which is true." Nirmala Sitharaman will respond shortly; all I can say is that the Budget will benefit everyone, and this will be evident in the results.

Nirmala Sitharaman reportedly responded, "I think he has given a typical UP type answer, which is good enough for an MP who fled UP."

THE ELECTION IN UTTAR PRADESH

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly election 2022 will be held in seven phases beginning on February 10, 2022. The ballots will be counted on March 10th.

The most recent Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh (2017) were held in seven stages. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies had won 312 of the 403 Assembly seats in the state.

The Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections this time are expected to be a four-cornered fight between the ruling BJP, Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party, the Congress, and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party.
