All relevant information regarding the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat express
On June 27 at roughly 10:30 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually launch the Dharwad-Hubballi-KSR Bengaluru City Vande Bharat Express.
Modi will also introduce four additional Vande Bharat trains during his trip to Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal (Rani Kamalapati)-Indore, Bhopal-Jabalpur, Ranchi-Patna, and Goa (Madgaon)-Mumbai. Around 10:30 am, the first train is scheduled to depart from Dharwad and arrive at KSR Bengaluru City railway station at 6:30 pm, stopping at the majority of the stations along the way. On June 19, the Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express started its test run.
-On the KSR Bengaluru City-Hubballi-Dharwad route, commercial operations of the eight-car Bengaluru-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express, which includes one executive class, will begin on June 28.
-Ticket prices for the executive chair car (EC) and the AC chair car (CC) between Bengaluru and Dharwad are Rs 2,010 and Rs 1,165, respectively. The cost of the executive chair car and the AC chair car for the return trip from Dharwad to Bengaluru, respectively, is Rs 2,440 and Rs 1,330, respectively.
- As compared to the rate from Bengaluru to Dharwad, the ticket price from Dharwad to Bengaluru is more expensive. This is so because lunch and refreshments are included in the price of the ticket from Dharwad to Bengaluru. On the other hand, the ticket fee does not include lunch when travelling from Bengaluru to Dharwad. But, it does pay for the breakfast and snacks offered throughout the trip.
-On other days other than Tuesdays, the Vande Bharat Express will run between KSR Bengaluru City and Dharwad with stops in Yeswantpur, Davangere, and Hubballi.
Hubballi-Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat express
-The journey from Bengaluru to Dharwad will take approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes. The KSR Bengaluru City-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express train, number 20661, will depart from KSR Bengaluru City at 5:45 am and arrive in Dharwad at 12:10 pm (6 hours and 25 minutes). The return trip will leave Dharwad at 1:15 PM and arrive in Bangalore at 7:45 PM (6 hours and 30 minutes).
-This train will link Bengaluru, the state capital, with the twin cities of Dharwad and Hubballi. Tourists, students, business owners, and others in the area will gain from it.
- This will be the second Vande Bharat Express in Karnataka, following the November 2022 launch of the Mysuru-Bengaluru-Chennai train.
-The Vande Bharat Express travels at an average speed of about 70 kmph between Bengaluru and Dharwad (489 km).
The railway line between Dharwad and Bengaluru has been entirely doubled, electrified, and the speed has been enhanced to 110 kmph for more than 350 km, according to South Western Railway officials. At sections of the track that have been made suitable for 110 kmph travel, the Vande Bharat Express will operate at that speed. Moreover, work is being done to make the entire length capable of 110 kmph travel.
-According to officials, the Vande Bharat Express has the potential to cut travel time in half when compared to other trains that run along this stretch.
