Fire On Express Train Causes Panic In Odisha, But Issue Is Solved In A Hurry
In the Nuapada district of Odisha, a fire was discovered in an air-conditioned carriage of the Durg-Puri Express on Thursday, frightening the passengers, according to the East Coast Railway.
There were no casualties associated with the incident.
In a statement, the East Coast Railway stated that smoke was found in the train's B3 coach as it arrived at the Khariar Road station this evening.
"Due to friction and an incomplete brake release, the brake pads caught fire. Brake pads were the only thing on fire. No harm was done "stated the railway.
The train left the station around 11 p.m. after the issue was fixed in less than an hour, according to the report.
Most of the passengers hurriedly exited the train as a result of their worry over the situation.
After a collision involving the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a cargo train, 288 people died and more than 1,100 were injured in one of the nation's deadliest train tragedies at the Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha's Balasore district.
