Hyderabad: RTC employees protest against Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan calling for the passage of the TSRTC merger bill

Hyderabad: In the early hours of Saturday, members of several RTC unions and employees conducted protests at various locations throughout Hyderabad in opposition to Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan's delay in approving the TSRTC merger bill.

RTC employees—men and women—clad in black badges gathered at bus stops with signs calling for an immediate decision to be made on the bill that had previously been referred by the State government to the Governor for approval.

The RTC worker unions had scheduled a two-hour demonstration from 6 am to 8 am, however at some depots, the protest went past 8 am. Throughout the demonstration, buses at several depots, notably in Musheerabad, remained there.

Also, the unions had instructed all RTC staff to assemble at PVNR Marg at approximately 10am in order to launch a dharna at Raj Bhavan at around 11am.
