In its most recent bulletin, which was released on August 1, IMD issued a warning for Wednesday's very heavy to extremely heavy rains in Odisha. Severe to intense rainfall is quite likely to occur over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Goa, and Maharashtra. In addition, heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Karnataka.

Here are the five-day weather predictions:

East India: Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is anticipated over Bihar from August 1 to August 5, Odisha from August 1 to August 3, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand from August 1 to August 2, and Sub-2 Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from August 1 to August 4. Isolated regions of very heavy rainfall are also quite likely to occur across West Bengal and Gangetic Odisha on August 1 and 2, 2023.

Central India: Light to moderate scattered to widespread rainfall is forecast for East Madhya Pradesh until August 4, North Chhattisgarh from August 3 to 4, West Madhya Pradesh from August 2 to 4, and Vidarbha on August 2. East Madhya Pradesh is also anticipated to get a few scattered, extremely intense downpours on August 3.

Northwest India: From August 1 to August 5, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh will likely experience light to moderate downpours that are scattered to quite widespread. From August 3 to August 5, West Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan will experience light to moderate downpours that are distributed to quite widespread. A danger of isolated, extremely heavy rain is also present in East Uttar Pradesh till August 3, in Uttarakhand from August 3 to 5, in Himachal Pradesh between August 3 and 4, and in West Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan on August 3.

Northeast India: There is a very good possibility of mild to moderately heavy downpours over the region during the next five days, with a slight chance of extremely heavy rain over Tripura on August 1.

West India: For the next five days, light to moderate rain is expected to continue in the Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh ghat areas, as well as in Marathwada on August 2 and the Gujarat Region on August 1, 4, and 5, 2023.

Up until August 4 in coastal Karnataka, there will likely be widespread light to moderate rain, with isolated heavy rain being quite probable. Elsewhere in South India, the intensity of the rain will be waning.
