Up till August 23, extremely heavy rain is expected in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Beginning on August 21, the weather service expects an increase in rainfall activity throughout east and northeast India. Furthermore, it stated that over Gujarat and southern Peninsular India, moderate rainfall activity is predicted to persist for the next three to five days.

According to HR Biswas, an IMD scientist, there will be light to moderate rain in Odisha today and thunderstorm activity is predicted to pick up over North Odisha starting on August 23. Sunday will likely be cloudy with light rain or drizzle after rain on Saturday caused waterlogging in the nation's capital and hampered traffic flow in various areas of Delhi-NCR.

According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, light to moderate amounts of rain are anticipated to fall in many locations throughout some districts of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rains that have recently descended on the state's rugged terrain have caused flash floods and landslides. On Saturday, 78 people had died as a result of rain-related incidents in Himachal Pradesh over the previous week.
