An official announcement stated that about 1,800 persons from various professions, together with their spouses, have been invited from all across the country as Special Guests as part of the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort.

The announcement said that 75 couples from each State and Union Territory have also been invited to attend the ceremony at Red Fort while dressed traditionally.

Around 400 Sarpanches from more than 660 thriving villages were invited as Special Guests, together with 250 members of Farmer Producer Organizations and 50 participants from each of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

A total of 50 Shram Yogis (constructors), including those working on the Central Vista Project and the New Parliament Building, 50 Khadi workers, 50 border road workers, 50 Amrit Sarovar and Har Ghar Jal Yojana employees, and 50 elementary school teachers, nurses and fishermen are also invited.

During their stay in Delhi, several of these Special Guests had plans to visit the National War Monument and speak with Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt.

The celebrations of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav," which were started by the Prime Minister on March 12, 2021, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, will come to an end on this year's Independence Day. The nation will once again be ushered into "Amrit Kaal" with renewed vigour to realise Narendra Modi's dream of making India a developed country by 2047.

At 12 locations, including the National War Memorial, India Gate, Vijay Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Pragati Maidan, Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid Metro Station, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, Delhi Gate Metro Station, ITO Metro Gate, Naubat Khana, and Sheesh Ganj Gurudwara, selfie points have been installed to promote various government programmes and initiatives.
