In the latest ICC men's ODI batting rankings released on Wednesday, India's new white-ball captain Rohit Sharma remained up third place but closed in on teammate Virat Kohli, who remained in second place.

With his fifty in the first ODI of the three-match series against the West Indies, Rohit won some vital rating points, and he currently has 807 rating points to Kohli's 828.

Babar Azam, the Pakistani captain, remained in first place, while his countrymen Fakhar Zaman and England batter Joe Root broke into the top ten.

Shai Hope of the West Indies, who scored 8 runs in the first ODI, lost vital points and dropped out of the top ten.

Oman's Jatinder Singh, who scored a century in the first match of the UAE series, which is part of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, vaulted 26 places into the top 100 batting rankings.

With 594 runs in 23 games, Jatinder is the second-highest run-scorer in the League 2 campaign.
