The reigning champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), put on a fantastic performance at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, defeating Delhi Capitals by 91 runs to keep their playoff hopes alive. It was their fourth win of the season, and their second under MS Dhoni, who took over as captain earlier this month.

While the game was crucial for Chennai, who were hoping to stay in the competition, albeit mathematically, there were some lighter moments, one of which involving skipper MS Dhoni and his partner Dwayne Bravo.

The incident occurred in the 17th over in Delhi's chase for 193, when Anrich Nortje punched Maheesh Theekshana's delivery towards the cover area. Bravo, who was stationed nearby, dived to the ground to stop the single. Dhoni congratulated him on his efforts with a cheeky "Well done old man" that was caught on the stump mic and had the pundits in splits.

The 38-year-old later recounted his amusing exchange with Dhoni during Chennai's innings' last over, in which he advised the captain to strike boundaries rather than go for singles.

"Well, it was a hat-trick ball for me." I was determined to put him on strike. "I instructed him not to push me for twos, but to strike boundaries," Bravo told the official broadcasters.

"After the innings, I told him, 'MS, 3 balls to again (if such a situation arises), let someone else run because I need to protect my hamstring.'
