In NEW DELHI: KL Rahul, the captain of IPL team Lucknow Super Giants, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a leg injury, according to a Cricbuzz report.
Rahul will probably not play for India in the World Test Championship final against Australia in June after sustaining the injury during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1.

According to the Cricbuzz article, Rahul is currently in Mumbai for scans, the findings of which will determine whether he plays in the World T20 Championship final, which will be held at The Oval from June 7 to 11.
Rahul was hurt during fielding in the game versus RCB and hobbled off the pitch.

Even though Rahul didn't use a stretcher to leave the field, the story claims that insiders are sceptical that he will make it to the WTC final.

Rahul's injury's nature has only been a subject of conjecture because neither the LSG management nor the BCCI have released an official declaration. He may have a hamstring or hip issue, according to reports. It is known that all aspects are being taken into consideration. Rahul underwent hernia surgery in Germany just over ten months prior.
After a strange training injury before Lucknow's match against Bangalore, left-arm bowler Jaydev Unadkat is also ruled out of the IPL in addition to Rahul, and his preparation for the WTC final is also in doubt.

Unadkat was bowling in the nets around the wicket when his left foot got caught in the orange rope supporting the nets, causing him to fall awkwardly and sustain serious elbow injuries. Later images revealed him to be wearing a sling around his left arm and having an ice pack applied to his left shoulder by a Lucknow medical staff member.
"After the clarity is established, the BCCI may designate replacement(s). But choosing a replacement for Rahul will be obvious. Ishan Kishan, who was recently a member of the Indian team, could serve as the second wicketkeeper for the one-off Test "put the report in.

The Indian squad will depart for London for the WTC final on May 23, following the conclusion of the league stage of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on May 21, according to the report. Later, players whose IPL teams will advance to the playoffs will depart for London.
