For Indian users, Google Messages will automatically erase OTPs.

The new function, according to the firm, will help keep the inbox clear of single-use codes.

Google said on Tuesday that the Messages app for Indian users will be updated to allow one-time passwords (OTPs) to be automatically deleted 24 hours after they are received.

The new function, according to the firm, will help keep the inbox clear of single-use codes. Users must hit continue to confirm their option when they receive the suggestion popup to enable the function.

Last year, Google enhanced spam prevention by putting suspected spam communications to a spam folder in an effort to decrease unwanted messages.

Google Messages will get a new feature that will automatically filter messages into categories, according to the internet giant.

The messages will be classified into personal, transactional, and OTPs using machine learning, and will provide assistance in finding the messages.

In a blog post, Google said that “bank transactions and invoices will be sorted into the transactions page, while chats with stored numbers will be readily accessible in the personal tab.”

All discussions are saved in the app, and users may view the classified messages even when they are not connected to the internet.

The features will be available in English on Android phones running Android 8 and newer in India in the coming weeks
