Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia announced on Wednesday that he will host President Joe Biden, the leaders of Japan and India, and a security conference the following month.

Australia will host the Quad Leaders' Summit for the first time on May 24 at the Sydney Opera House. Additionally, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be there.

With the ongoing effects of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the strategic competition in our region, Mr. Albanese continued, "We realise that we live in a more unstable world."

The Indo-prosperity Pacific's was extremely important to the Quad partners. He stated that the Quad was dedicated to promoting an open, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region that respects sovereignty and ensures security and development for all.

I'm interested in talking with Quad leaders about how we, along with key regional organisations like ASEAN, the Pacific Islands Forum, the Indian Ocean Rim Association, and our regional allies, can help create the Indo-Pacific region that we all want to live in, said Mr. Albanese.

When Biden hosts the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum conference in San Francisco in November, Albanese said he will travel to the US. He has also been asked to a bilateral meeting with the president, the specifics of which have not yet been set.

When Albanese last travelled to the US in March, Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak made an official announcement about the so-called AUKUS collaboration, which will see Australia receive eight submarines fueled by American nuclear technology.

Biden's choice to seek for a second term in office was not addressed by Mr. Albanese.

"I consider President Biden to be a friend. And he is undoubtedly Australia's buddy, Mr. Albanese said.

"I don't offer opinions on American domestic politics. The people of the United States should decide that. Might I say this? Mr. Albanese continued, "President Biden will be a very welcome visitor here in Australia.
